The reason I supported Jerry Brown in 92 was that he was for the flat tax, which took enormous power from the IRS. No one can figure out 20,000 pages of tax code. Obama and the head of the IRS have someone else figure out their taxes. With the flat tax, I take my income, divide by 15%, equals my tax.
I am horrified of the IRS. I am collage educated and have taken and passed collage level math classes in algebra and statistics along with chemistry and physics. I have no chance of figuring out 20,000 pages of lawyer gibberish that is the IRS. And they have unspeakable powers of law behind them. They can say I owe $20,000 and I gotta hire a tax lawyer and pay him $50,000 to get myself off.
The flat tax is nothing about lowering my taxes. It’s about taking the power out of the hands of the monster IRS.

Let’s see if I’ve got this right. IRS went after conservative organizations like the Tea Party or those that had the name “Patriot” involved in their goals and “In some cases, groups were asked for their list of donors, which violates IRS policy. Now they have said “sorry”. Then it is all blamed on Bush? What’s wrong with this picture?

So, the IRS supposedly investigated organizations with the name “patriot” in them. I wonder if they investigated the union-funded Patriot Majority, run by Senator Harry Reid’s former communications director, Craig Varoga? Just curious.
