I really feel sorry for folks who will need to air condition homes this summer in California.

In Tucson where we are hotter that Saudia Arabia ( lots of days into 108F) We have been using evaporative precooling of the hot air before it is then cooled by air conditioning. The air that is bolwn into the room is not effected by the precooling the precooling is done on just the condenser loop.Pacific Gas and Electric have spem million on reports they have been paid to publish since the 1980's how effectrive precooling the air that is used in air conditiong.

It is too bad that the energy fools in California never figured out what we in Tucson have known since 1940.. in hot dry climates evaporative precooling works to reduce the energy that air conditioning uses by over 30%.

Just Google PG&E and evaporative condensers you will see many report over 20 years old.

The fools who are paid $300,000 a year to sit on the brains they have left will never get it.

I laugh when Califorina homeowner will pay over $1000 a month to cool a small home.

The jerks who run California see $800 per peak KWHR as no big deal

I love the $160,000,000 Spent last summer to bring the Huntington Beach Gas fired power plant online that can never be used again to provide power.

Hopefully the silent majority of the 1.7 million homes and businesses in San Diego, Orange and southern Los Angeles County closest to San Onofre that were served by the huge 2,200 megawatt facility at SONGS will now get a chance to choose its replacement.
• The Huntington Beach power plant is only 440 megawatts, i.e., only 20% of the capacity of SONGS.
• The equivalent of 4 more clones to Huntington Beach would be required to make up the difference in power to serve the current 1,700,000 being served by SONGS.
• More infrastructure and transmission lines may be required to bring Solar and Wind green power back from the desert to where the 1.7 million homes and businesses in Orange County and San Diego County are located.
• The green power options may not be available 24/7 as green power relies on Mother Nature’s sun and wind.
• Other power plants such as fossil fuel and natural gas, that can provide 24/7 power will produce more metric tons of smog producing pollutants, and more metric tons of carbon emissions.
The choices are MORE emissions, and MORE costly energy, but hopefully the SILENT majority of the 1.7 million homes and businesses that will be breathing those extra emissions and paying higher costs for power, and not just the few vocal minority, will be able to make those choices.

Upcoming "Brown" outs will not be unforeseen or unexpected. Look to AB 32, CARB and the slobbering love affair of the utilities and the Greens. Lots of money flowing in this closed loop. This upcoming fail was tried and proven a disaster in Europe but our know it all's in California Government refused to listen.
But Wait! It will get worse. Those on fixed incomes in Europe facing catastrophic utilities bills have a phrase, "Heat or Eat". How charming and true, it will the same here soon.

You can rest assured that Comrade Brown and the rest of the politburo will do everything they possibly can to manufacture a crisis, and not let it to waste. They surely will use this crisis to bolster the States carbon credit trading, which is nothing more than an invented taxing scheme that circumvents the usual tax approval process.

Rolling black outs brown outs asian outs white outs La Raza outs its all a coming to us comrades. Down here in the gulag we're prepared for it. We're leaving for good!

I still maintain this is the single most insane sentence I have ever read in my life:

".....To comply with regulations, both of the decommissioned Huntington Beach gas power plants had their gas lines severed and three-foot holes were cut in the boilers....."

Our regulations authorize....no....REQUIRE....deliberate vandalism.
