Who cares if the spaceships crash into the ocean.
Same with the bridge. Construction contracts are given out based on minority status and political payback schemes. Safety is way down the list.
I’m sure there are perfectly competent minority contractors. But do they play the campaign donation kickback scheme? If not, they don’t get the contract and the bridge falls into the sea.
