It was $3.30/hr in 1978 – when it was relatively very high, vis-a-vis purchasing power. I know cuz I made it.

Don’t try and tell us inflation has risen nearly 7 times in 35 years.

If the minimum wage had been raised over the years to keep up with inflation, it would now be more than $21 an hour.

Why should hard-working , tax-paying Americans be expected to work for a wage that keeps them in poverty?

Artificial wages are a disaster….like tipping 15-18% for someone just doing their “service” job.

$1.95 for a cup of coffee…..a tip jar in your face for someone drawing an over priced coffee.

A minimum wage adjusted for inflation….a really bad idea too.

Hey, didn’t the vaunted Kreuger-Card study prove that hiking the minimum wage doesn’t increase unemployment? The Ivy League Keynesian eggheads have once again “proven” that there is no relationship between labor prices and demand for labor. Boy, you have to be really, really, really smart to prove that one. Or maybe just a corrupt ideological hack masquerading as an economist.

So if $10/hr. is morally just and good for the economy, why use weak kneed half measures? Lets have a real minimum wage of $100/hr. Surely that would be 10 times as compassionate and good for the economy.

Why stop there? Why should only those lucky enough to be employed benefit from this orgy of compassion? Lets have a minimum wage law for the unemployed, paid for by those evil, profiteering private sector employers. I’m getting warm fuzzies just thinking about how much that would stimulate the economy and bring social justice for all.

Anyone who has a degree in Chicano Studies should be immediately disqualified from holding public office. Can you imagine U.C Berzerkeley offering a degree in White-non Hispanic studies? Anything one needs to learn about ones Chicano heritage can be learned without having to devote an entire undergraduate degree curriculum to such Balkanizing and exclusionary ethnic nonsense.

These Libtard politicos are absolutely a danger to themselves and others and need to seek mental health care immediately. Same for the idiots who vote them into office. This state is bursting at the seams with clueless nitwits. One wonders how the place works at all.

Alejo…..Almost a carbon copy of Bonta, from a couple days ago……Very smart kid, UC Berkeley degree in Poly Sci and Chicano Studies (Isn’t “Chicano” a bit dated?). Masters of Ed. from Harvard (Planning and “Social Policy”), then UC Davis Law. More checks in more boxes.

Legal aid attorney and a stint as high school teacher, “….focusing on “at-risk” children”. (is that a new department in high schools these days?)

Three guesses as to what his goals are. (I’m sure the words “help” and “community” are in there.) Honestly – he’d be of more value to his “community” if he were to establish and grow an insurance agency.

Ho hum…..another advocate, activist, community organizer. The list is pretty finite: Minorities, gays, environment, and government union. That pretty much sums it up.

These people are so tiresome.
