Skippy – Yes, the requirements are many. No argument there.

……but we are then led to believe that NO ONE from the groves of academe had the qualifications to fill that role? (Despite a series of successful UC presidents who came from academia.) They had to turn to a carpetbagging political hack?

If political hackmanship is the sole criteria – why not Villaraigosa? Plus he’s out of a job…..Big Sis already had one. We coulda whittled down the unemployment rate.

You people are funny. Janet Napolitano has been selected to lead the UC system because large research universities are more than merely educational organizations; they are political organizations too.

Among other things, the UC oversees our nuclear weapons laboratories, conducts cutting-edge medical research, and provides the basic science required to continually fuel our technological needs. Those are policy activities, many of which require a strong grasp of government operations and the ability to be an effective advocate for the organization at the federal and even international level.

Those of you who never even made it to graduation at your local community college probably never considered the influence and amount of money the UC system brings into our state, but you might at least try.

Uhaul: Janet N is neither strong nor competent. During her years with Obama, we’ve had terrorist bombings (Boston bombers: three dead, 200 injured) and terrorist shootings (Fort Hood: 13 dead), none of which were stopped by Janet’s team despite that being her job.

In fact, all Napolitano has done is release a list of “domestic terrorists” which included people who want smaller government and military personnel returning from Iraq.

So all Janet is going to do is wreck the U of C school system. Trust me, it’ll happen.

Janet Napolitano has been placed at the head of the U of C for one reason only: to create education programs for the illegals in California.

What other possible reason could there be? She’s spent at least four years opening up the southern border and welcoming in illegals, so now it’s time to educate them to hate America.

So she gets the presidency of the school system of the state with the biggest population of illegals in America. Then it’s a simple matter of forcing her underlings to pander to the illegals or get fired. Which will cost more money which means higher taxes for all Californians.
