Of course, who defines the “extreme right?” If you listen to the mainstream media it is, of course, the tea party and any republican that wishes to reduce the size of government and control government spending. But, does the voting public view it that way? Do people really want more taxes, more regulators, and more government control? We shall see.

Agreed, my college age kids are socially liberal, i.e. gay rights, but they really are quite pissed off at the level of free loading around. Also, the lievel of “fraud” applying for college aid disgusts them. They know a case where the Pacific Heights Mom found a new wealthy hubby. but conveniently passes responsibility to loser-ex so Junior gets a free ride to college. Junior knows why this was done…this is not isolated. It is like you are an idiot if you don t get your piece. I am all for bringing back the guillotine to restore social/economic order.

Thanks for commenting, Ted. The problem with that thesis is that the party’s numbers are good in the House and at the state level and likely to improve in the Senate.

But the GOP seems to have a big problem going forward with young voters, who care much less for social conservatism than older generations.
