The 3 of these women are so removed from the lives of the people they represent that they have no clue what it’s like to be a middle class wage earner today. Our area in Northern California is overrun with Drug and Alcohol addicted Transients who do a fine job of mooching the system. Little do they care, that the folks that pay their wage are selling and moving to other States. I suggest that just like the show “Undercover Boss” that they arrive incognito in our most complained about areas and hang out for about 3 days to get a real feel on what they need to be working on in Sacramento.

SkippingDog: The whole country is so different from 1956 or 1960, it’s hard to make comparisons. For example, abortion couldn’t even be mentioned at all on movies or TV, or in polite company. Now it’s practically mandatory, as supported by both the Republican and Democratic elites. (Romney favored legal abortion as gov. of Massachusetts; Schwarzenegger always has favored legalized abortion, has did Whitman in her campaign.)

About 99% of Republicans or Democrats from the 1956s would, if they somehow were transported to 2013 and still held their beliefs of that day, die of heart attacks on seeing what goes on now.

Look up the 1956 or 1960 Republican and Democratic party platform statements. They’re very easy to find on sites such as the American Presidency Project. You’ll find that the traditional Republican party was left of the contemporary Democratic party on many issues. It is the Republicans who have lurched hard to the right, beginning with Goldwater and lurching further with Reagan and now the Tea Party.

Real Republicans no longer recognize their Grand Old Party. It has been taken over by the same nutjobs who used to run the John Birch Society.

Di Fi didn’t even need to run for office… no one would run against her. She couldn’t even manager her own campaign funds they were stolen….so she wanted a do over. She wouldn’t even debate the repubs…She won by default even thought I don’t know anyone that wanted her to win!
