He’s the one who stabbed his constituents in the backs in 2009 when he was termed out and was one of the needed 6 republican votes that kicked the higher taxes over the finish line for the democrats. Abel signed a NO NEW TAXES pledge before his constituents voted him in for his last term in the senate – and then betrayed them with the 2009 vote for higher taxes. Then his GOP friends in Sacramento confirmed his appointment as Lt. Gov under Arnold until Newsome beat him in the elections.

That’s a brief history of what Abel Maldenado is all about. I wouldn’t trust him any further than I could throw Chris Christie.
