So the Kalifornia Republicans have become so irrelevant that they are attacking each other with specious and vindictive lawsuits. Can the California Republican Party sink any lower? Probably. What a pathetic circus.

"Both Wyland and Harkey are candidates for the Board of Equalization."

Can't these petty politicos get a real job after their term limits are up. Surely there must be more to life than being a minor and very over paid government functionary.

“Using her office to routinely slam lawyers who represent truly injured and powerless victims, all the while planning to file her own lawsuit, makes a mockery of the entire tort reform movement,”

If trial lawyers actually confined themselves to representing the truly injured and powerless I could take Kabatecks comments seriously. Obviously that is not the case, and it's all the more galling that such nonsense is spouted by a $400 per hour ambulance chaser in a $2000 suit. Guys like Kabateck routinely uses the tort system to enrich themselves at the expense of clients, whose civil compensation they plunder shamelessly, while passing the costs on to employers, taxpayers, ratepayers and customers.

The next time a trial lawyer goes all Mother Teresa on you just remember all of those Trevor Law Group ADA extortion lawsuits, the Steven Donziger shakedown lawsuit against Chevron, the recent disbarment of class action superstar Stanley Chesley or the infamous racketeering, bribery and mail fraud convictions of Milberg-Weiss partners William Lerach, Steven Schulman, Melvin Weiss and David Bershad. If the superstars of civil litigation are this corrupt, imagine how bad your average local yokel ambulance chaser might be.

Yes, we need lawyers to protect us from other lawyers, but that doesn't make them paragons of virtue.
