					<description><![CDATA[Thank you for posting this.  I tweeted the same reaction to the reporter - the disappearing debt makes no sense and the SF ballot has been historically replete with falsehoods about employee benefit costs.  It is how we got into this mess.  Boggles the mind.

But who says the unfunded liability is only $4.4 billion?  The Chron has been reporting this figure for three years.  It is also a figure produced by the City which has an incentive to underreport the liability - does it not?  &quot;Let&#039;s not alarm anybody.&quot;  Even if the calculation done by a third party, the City feeds the assumptions to make the calculation.

Please stay on the case.
