Nice article Chris, please do more on this subject. The Constitution is worth protecting from the police and the Police State.

Yes, in my marijuana haze of youth, I was pulled over by Rialto cops. Thank god we had lost the joints we had. The police never found them but they took my bong. Didn't get a ticket because I was so nice to them. We never did find those joints. I wonder what happened to them.

"Cityeye" do you expect anything different in a liberal, democrat controlled state such as California. Liberals hate military, law enforcement and anything to do with authority. I spent over a decade as a cop in this state and finally realized after seeing all the slap-on-the-wrist liberal Judges, D.A's and defense attorneys, that I was wasting my time and was way outnumbered. Any person who wants to be a cop in California is either just desperate for some type of job or just plain stupid.

I would like to chime in and state emphatically with the bias of the media towards law enforcement and the only perception the public gets is the negative. I would love to see the camera footage aired over and over of all the LAPD Officers who have been shot at and assaulted. When LAPD Officers were shot at doing a parole check in South LA not one media outlet covered the story. When ever LAPD Officers who risk their lives everyday running towards the most violent, aggressive criminals and are injured you rarely see it on TV news. I'm sick and tired of these type of stories again showing the bias side of LAPD. The story of all the Medal of Valor recipients was barely covered and countless positive stories. Thankfully Angelenos are intelligent and don't rush to judgement. If there are bad apples within the ranks of LAPD and I"m sure there are as these officers come from the streets of LA, then no one wants them out more then the hard working, dedicated and committed LAPD Officers who were the badge proudly.

I am pro cop but am appalled at some cops anti 1st attitude. If you do record a cop in action DON'T get close. Stay at least 30 feet or more away. If you get within 10 feet of a cop in action, he can rightly see you are a threat. I've seen activists get within a few feet of a cop while filming. You are then an obvious threat and you are diverting his attention from the bad guy he is dealing with. The bad guy could take advantage of the cops diverted attention to attack the cop. Anyone who has taken part in an arrest knows this, as I have. Stay back, even more than 50 feet. And if he says give him your camera, run. He then has to leave the bad guy he is dealing with and he won't likely do that. If he catches you, don't fight. Let your lawyers do that. You'll win in court.
