California is the epitome of public school education failure. Here are the reasons:

(1) The system rewards public school educators for failing. It promotes failure. What would happen to a normal business if it handed out bonuses to workers who failed at their jobs?

(2) The system destroys the incentive to learn by promoting 'equality' in the classroom. A very wise man once said "Freedom and equality are sworn and everlasting enemies. When one prevails the other dies." Competition has become a dirty word in the progressive educational system. It's bad for self-esteem.

(3) The system spends an inordinate amount of money on slow learners from families that do not value education rather than focusing the resources on students who are motivated to learn. In fact, motivated students are stunted and effectively punished (held back) so that more focus can be spent on slow learners. If the patriarchs and matriarchs of the families do not value education it is practically impossible to instill those values extraneously.

(4) Finland does not have the cultural problems that we have. Finland is a homogeneous nation. Their schools do not have common language problems where students of varying language skills are put into the same classes. Or where students with zero common language skills require completely separate classes. A common language is critical for any educational system to thrive.

(5) California has never spent more money on it's public school system yet its overall academic performance has gone in the total opposite direction. And the more it fails the more they emphasize the very policies that have caused its failure. Sort of like how 'insanity' works. Doing the same nutty things over and over again....then expecting a different result.
