From the interview: “While many seniors believe they are simply drawing out the “savings” they were forced to deposit into Social Security and Medicare, they are actually drawing out much more, especially relative to later generations. That’s because politicians have voted to award the seniors ever more generous benefits. As a result, while today’s 65-year-olds will receive on average net lifetime benefits of $327,400, children born now will suffer net lifetime losses of $420,600 as they struggle to pay the bills of aging Americans.”
The SS and Medicare trains have left their tracks, but it’s a slow motion disaster; that’s why they’re still so “popular”. Fiscal insolvency aside, SS and Medicare are immoral in practice as they result in wealth transfer to a relatively well off population (the elderly) from a less well off population (the young and workers in general). Support for SS and Medicare is in fact support for the Haves in the class war.

Mehlman translator: When Obamacare benefits my family, it’s good for everyone. If you complain when Obamacare doesn’t benefit your own family, you’re just being selfish and mean.

Steve: iPhone is an inapt comparison. I don’t have one and get along just fine with my Android clone. I know people who don’t even have a smart phone, just an older cell. And I know others who have no cell at all, just a land line. It’s called freedom.

By contrast, Obamacare is a mandatory Soviet system. You can’t get out of it. Right now, our insurance was canceled, and negotiations are ongoing for something else. But I liked our insurance! Too bad for me.

I’m happy for your daughter. She was one of the fraction who will do better. The rest of us won’t. I won’t. I’m a slave.

I predicted long ago that healthy people will opt to pay the lesser penalty to the government, pay out of pocket for incidental medical expenses, and only opt into the insurance grid if they suffer a major medical problem, as you can opt in at any time you want or need to.

This means that only chronically sick people will buy insurance. This will force the insurance companies to jack up their premiums since someone has to pay for the care of the sick. Normally the premiums paid by the healthy people in the insurance risk pools cover the costs incurred by the sick. But healthy people will refuse to pay the higher rates unless they suffer a serious medical condition too.

This is a complete disaster in the making. I was a proponent of health care reform under the old system – but this is just more of the same. Obama has created a monster. Don’t forget – the majority of the American people were against ObamaCare when it was approved. And the politcians forced it on us anyway.

Funny that when Apple has problems launching an IPhone, or when Facebook’s IPO goes into the dumper, the Righties never say a word. And I’ll bet the right had the same complaints about Social Security and Medicare when they were launched.

The right wing is having apoplexy because they know that the longer Obamacare is in place, the more popular it will become. Their train wreck b.s. will be exposed as a flat-out lie.

Don’t be a chump by being a sheeple and going into a medical system run like public housing!
