This article doesn't make much sense to me.

How exactly is Garcia a 'politcal reformer' who's going 'against the grain' and bucking the system?

To my recollection the disgust with what happened at the City of Bell was practically unanimous and drew the ire of both major political parties. It looks to me that Garcia simply jumped on the bandwagon and became involved as a talking point to further her political career.

With regard to Ron Calderon, Garcia ran against his brother for the political position that she currently holds. I suspect Ron Calderon campaigned hard for his bro's election and there was some trash talk involved. So they are likely political enemies. And today Garcia has her eye on Ron Calderon's senate seat should he resign. So for her to ask him to resign his job is an act of unselfish goodwill and a courageous example of political reform within the democrat party? Hardly. Looks like political expedience to me.

Once Garcia fights to dismantle the welfare-nanny state, dismantle the public unions, cut the massive public pensions, balance the state budget, punish rather than reward criminal illegal aliens who steal jobs from the American underclass and lower taxes I'll take her seriously as a maverick democrat out for 'reform'.

Until then, it's all noize and hype.

Sad thing is if Garcia were a Republican reformer bucking the party, she'd be branded a traitor, RINO and worse. And you'd probably be there with a pitchfork and torch.
