Purely anecdotally, but it seems that in decades past Fed dollars used to spread out more – far flung military bases, water projects in the West, that sort of thing. The Parasite got its transactional cut, but the balance went to the hinterland. No more. So much of Fed dollars now goes to what we might term “Command and Control”……and that STAYS with a 30 mile radius of The Mall.
