Do you dispute any of the facts presented, or is volume your only complaint?

I suggest 'The Evelyn Wood Seven-Day Speed Reading and Learning Program' by S. Frank.

Besides, we need a 'go to' guy at CWD who can read Obama's legislation so we know what's in it before it gets approved.

Oh, btw. Did you see the news report yesterday that since the on-line payment system on HC.gov is still inoperable that the insurance companies can't get paid for the insurance policies so our big-daddy POTUS has decided to cut ESTIMATED taxpayer funded treasury checks to the big insurers to backstop them!!! lol.

Plus, as you already know, if the insurers don't hit their profit targets under ObamaCare - that the taxpayers are MANDATED under the ObamaCare law to make them whole and pay the difference between the shortfall and their profit target numbers! lol. More CRONY CAPITALISM!!!

But that's what happens when the sugar daddy insurers are allowed to write the law, then pay their puppet politicians to pass the law and we aren't allowed to know what it contains until it officially becomes law!!!
Remember when transparent Obama told back in 2008 that all Americans would have the opportunity to read proposed legislation on-line for a full 5 days before it was voted on by Congress??? lol.

Then once it became law big daddy POTUS can make his own amendments as he goes along without going through Congress or asking permission from the people!!! lol.

Consent of the governed??? lol

OK, let's cut through some of the malarkey.

First of all, the marketplace doesn't determine the number of physicians in the United States like it does airline pilots, engineers or architects. It is entirely a POLITICAL DECISION heavily influenced by the physicians themselves. Congress controls the # of docs via federal funding. The American Medical Association (AMA) is one of the strongest labor unions in the nation with tremendous lobbying power.

In 2012 the AMA contibuted $2,123,190 to political canidates running for elected office and ranked 167 out of 20,968 other organizations that did so, according to OpenSecrets.

In 2011 the AMA spent $21,500,000 on political lobbying efforts and ranked 11 out of 4,372 other organizations that did so, according to OpenSecrets.

Oh, btw, the AMA also supported the ObamaCare law. lol.

Now we know that supply and demand plays a big role in determining the salary levels of any profession. When supply is ARTIFICALLY kept low demand for their services soars which means compensation for those in the supply pool is enhanced.

Since 1980 US medical schools have graduated about a consistent 16,000 of medical doctor even though the US population has grown by 50 million. Why? Because CONgress claimed a lack of federal funding to grow the medical schools consistent with our population growth. lol. Now remember, the US spends $8,223 in PER CAPITA expenditure to sustain our healthcare system. lol. More than TWICE the amount of most other 1st world nations that show better medical outcomes and longer life expectancy rates than we do! lol. Yet we couldn't find the money to expand our medical schools! lol.

Now, California has about 255 generalist and specialist physicians per every 100,000 residents. The US average is about 258. The number of doctors generally correlates to the overall health of a population. This comes from AAMC data.

Cuba has 591 docs per 100,000 residents. Italy: 420. Israel: 382. Switzerland: 361. Austria: 338. France: 337. Germany: 337.

And all the people from all those countries on average live longer than we Americans do.

Now, California has the LARGEST poverty rate in the US. We know this through the Census Bureau Data. California expects to enroll over 2 million NEW Medi-Cal enrollees in the next 2 years. Doctors get paid 30%-40% less through Medi-Cal reimbursement than through reimbursement from private insurance policies.

Question: How many doctors are going to agree to take on this new motherload of Medi-Cal patients and take a 30%-40% hit in their income? hmmm? How many are going to remain in California versus fleeing to another state with far fewer welfare patients?

Is it any wonder that a large number of Medi-Cal patients signed up through Covered California? Wouldn't you sign up for a service that you got for free? If the State was handing out free $100 bills and sent you an invitation, would you show up?

The question is HOW MANY FULL PRIVATE PAY CUSTOMERS WILL SHOW UP TO SUBSIDIZE THE MEDI-CAL ENROLLEES?

Why is that number not available for public review??? lol.

So the next time a physicians says you're fine with 255 docs per 100,000 residents, you'll know the REAL questions to ask him. lol.
