I filed for unemployment benefits on May 30th and printed out the application after your system generated it. I had a confirmation number, but can't find it. However I do have the printout from EDD of the completed form. Now I am being told that it was never received, so my benefits won't begin until I refile. Has anyone else had this sort of problem recently?

Why we are continually “surprised” by incompetence in California’s government ran programs? (Such as the millions of funds that were “found” in the Parks Department budget and so many others {the list is long }).
The fact is that California’s governmental incompetence and waste is not punished. We keep allowing it to happen. The only question is what is the next California Government run program that’s incompetence will be made public ?

In reply to <a href="https://calwatchdog.com/2013/12/06/edd-responds-to-questions-on-computer-glitches/#comment-48006">LetitCollapse</a>.

I agree with you LetitCollapse. Part ll of the story is telling. It's the other side of the story, from the claimants experiences.

It is astounding that in California, the home of Silicon Valley, our own state government doesn't care enough to make important state computer systems work. And, the state has a huge IT agency, full of computer "experts." I'm not sure what they do, since the state contracts out all of it's IT projects.

Our government is out of control and not only has no accountability, they seem to revel in rubbing the taxpayers' faces in the waste, fraud, abuse and corruption.

I wish that we had a chance to write-in questions for Mr. Morgenstern prior to the interview.

My question would have been:

'Never have I encountered a computer glitch when making an on-line payment to a government agency. Those IT systems work impeccably. Why do these high-tech glitches always seem to interrupt outgoing as opposed to incoming payments? If I owed you a refund for an EDD overpayment does that on-line system work fine?'
