In reply to <a href="https://calwatchdog.com/2013/12/13/californians-turning-on-unions/#comment-50536">SeeSaw</a>.

The large majority of legal citizens opposed amnesty in 1986. It was forced on us by Reagan's executive order. It didn't go to the vote of the people. The electorate would have shot it down by an 80%-20% margin. The government knew that. So that's why the government forced it on us and ignored 'the consent of the governed'. We were also lied to and promised the borders would be sealed and illegal immigrants would be subject to the iron hand of the law. We were lied to back then just like Obama lies to us today.

By legalizing criminal aliens you would be rewarding criminals and punishing all those who play by the rules. Personally, I do not want to live in such a society. That is simply not the American way. It's not fair. It's not just. It's not civilized. That is the way savage nations operate.

The solution is very simple. Force all companies to use E-Verify to ensure all their workers are in compliance with US immigration laws and US labor laws. If not, terminate them and hire other workers who are in compliance. If an employer continues to employ illegals - fine him $10,000 per illegal on the 1st offense. Jail him on the 2nd offense. That is what normal western nations do. No other civilized nations allow illegal foreigners to steal jobs from their own citizens. With 20 million US citizens unable to find a full-time job - we shouldn't tolerate it either. With E-Verify enforcement 70% of the illegal would self-deport. Most of the problem would be eliminated within one year.

Stealing shopping carts is a violation of the law. Many cities have remedied that problem by requiring many stores to install devices on the cart that lock the wheels when the cart leaves the shopping parking lot. Works great! You see, that's how problems get solved. That way shopping carts don't clutter the neighborhoods!

E-Verify would work the same way with illegal foreign labor. But the oligarchs and the selective anarchists who don't want immigration laws or labor laws enforced oppose it. Most common ordinary citizens who are victims of illegal immigration want those laws enforced.

The problem is that the oligarchs and the selective anarchists have the power and overrule the large majority of the common citizens. Sort of like what happens in banana republics.

When 20 million of our own citizens can't find full-time jobs to support themselves or their families immigration should be put on hold. Immigration programs throughout the world are not created for the primary benefit of the immigrant. They are created to strengthen the host nation. The California legislature has approved driver's licenses for illegals and a law that forbids local authorities from cooperating with the Federal gov and deporting jailed illegals unless they've been convicted of serious violent offenses. How exactly does that benefit California? It doesn't. It only adds to our problems. It will only attract more indigent illegals when our educational system, health care system and social services system are already overloaded with problems and rising costs that the taxpayers are forced to sustain.

The only ones I know who advocate for illegal immigration and defiance of our laws are the oligarchs who profit from it. The many (95%) who I have spoken with about illegal immigration flat-out oppose it because the illegals come over here and take their jobs, suppress our wages, add to our blight and force our taxes to go up. Why would any rational legal citizen advocate for that?

Every legal citizen had the power to stop illegal immigration in 1986, but they didn't use that power, and from that time on, legal citizens broke our immigration laws. Now there are too many to deport, so its time to legalize them. In the meantime, don't hire them--don't purchase the uninspected food they are selling out of shopping carts that they, "borrowed", from your local market. Don't purchase the fruit and flowers they are selling on the street corners, because the illegal at the top of their pyramid is taking it all!

We need to support legal immigration. The illegal immigration was and always has been promoted by the legal citizens who just couldn't get enough of that cheap labor--and they threw all the legal blue collar workers under the bus while they were at it.

Did you read the latest Ca Dept of Finance population estimates for the State (07-2012 to 07-2013) that was released today? lol.

The report said that 170,000 more foreign immigrants (hint: illegals) came to California than left. And 103,000 more residents left Calfornia for other states than arrived. lol.

Translation: Unskilled indigents are arriving. Skilled producers are leaving. lol.

And with the new laws that give CA Driver's Licenses to illegals and the "Trust Act" which forbids local authorities from handing over jailed illegals to the Feds for deportation unless they've been convicted of serious violent felonies - Calfornia is going to be like colossal magnet for 3rd world indigent foreigners who either have nothing but the shirts on their backs or are running from the law in their own countries. lol.

If you think it's bad now - just wait!

Wait until the bleeding heart liberals get a taste of their own cooking! lol. There'll be neocon meet-up groups saturating San Francisco, Santa Monica and Hollywood! Reservations only!!! lol.

It is clear for all to see that Cali is spinning faster and faster down the drain as the real wealth creators flee the state at an ever increasing rate. It is also clear that those left over in what was once the greatest state of the union will do little to rid themselves of the thieving RAGWUS feeders as long as Big Macs and 7/11 hot dogs can be had with an EBT card. When the money stops for these programs the shredding of the RAGWUS will begin and end very quickly!!! :)

"But that means the Democratic Party will suffer fissures, with black and Hispanics especially upset at the public schools failing, year after year, to educate their kids. With money flowing in and Republicans irrelevant, who but the unions can take the blame?"

Ah, come on. The Ca public school system has been a total disaster for many years. How exactly have the Ca voters punished the democrats for it? Today the dems have the super-majority in the Ca legislature. lol. Brown will get reelected and none of the incumbent dems will lose a seat. Not a single seat at risk.

As long as the entitlement programs move forward, the dems continue to promote illegal immigration, and our bubble economy doesn't implode - the dems are safe as houses. lol.
