You have a scrap heap of junk obsolete parts and a bogus warranty by pagama boy for future repairs. Solar is the biggest con since Hudson's shiny beads to Manhsttan Indians!

This sort of thinking reflects the new postmodern economy of California where everyone tries to find a subsidy at someone else's expense instead of trying to build a true economy. California is transitioning to a mixed energy economy where 50% of it will depend on subsidies and the other 50% will have to carry the burden. Hey, look at me "I've go free solar" seems to be the boast. But there is no free lunch or free solar. The costs just get spread over all those electric ratepayers that don't have rooftop solar systems.

I have solarpower on three homes I own. I have not had an electric bill since the installations were activated. I pay a $15.85 fee to be connected to the grid. Solar works great unless you are republican.

Renewable energy is just a justification for building a Democratic Party constituency within the electric power industry that is beholden to politics for permanent subsidies. The air pollution won't be reduced within California's smog basins but in remote desert areas where there is no air pollution problem. This is the price of a mixed economy where political goals have to be mixed in with economic goals.

If this is what Californians want then they will get enormous utility bills that will continually have to be offloaded onto the middle class and business in tiered electric rates. This will mean gutting conservation because a large part of the total electric ratepayers will be subsidized to run up their electric bills because others are paying for it. And California will eventually have to shift it lifestyle: reduced watching of Monday night football, no night soccer practice under lights, no evening church services (other than by candle light), and no turning on A/C or heat from 6:30 to 9 pm unless you want a big power bill for the month. These sacrifices will be justified as doing your part to clean the air when in reality it is your sacrifice to create redundant union jobs for a redundant green power system. But you can gloat about its moral superiority and the conspicuous consumption of your rooftop solar panels subsidized by other electric ratepayers.

Solar does not work well in fog either. Software for battery back-up sucks up much of the power, constantly charging the batteries. Home use should have a simplified home panel.
