You’re on something, I’m sure – seek professional help. We’re not “booming” by any means. Doing better than recently, yes. Employment is terrible. Much of the increased revenue comes from capital gains (watch that evaporate) and tends to be transitory. The long term outlook is dismal (say “pension obligations”), only public employees (parasites in my book) have anything rosy in their future (but maybe not for long).

Anyone who went to college would know the difference between an engineering degree and a math teaching degree is about the difference between the Wimbledon champ and the guy who won the town tennis tournament. Some say a teacher should make as much as a doctor as they both have "advanced degrees"..

I know what you mean, Donkey. They used to come through Ellis Island. Now they just walk across the border and nobody kicks them out. Have you ever taken the tour of Ellis Island? Fascinating. Those were back in the days when we were actually selective about who we let into the country. Today the oligarchs have opened up the gates and let anyone with 2 legs and a pulse come in. And then we pay for their health care and education and give them dirver’s licenses. lol. They must really think we’re a bunch of idiots.

When I spoke of New Yorkers having pride in their city I meant those with generational ties to the city. NYC used to be a great place to go for a good time. Like back in the days of Guy Lombardo. Today you can’t even have a lousy cigarette with a beer in a pub without some cop getting in your face. lol. No idea why the old timers in NYC put up with it. They’ve ruined the culture of their city.
