I get that you are opposed to spending any amount of municipal money on the Sacramento Kings, but what I don’t get is that nobody appears upset over plans to spend much more than this on upgrades to the massive political white elephant that is the Sacramento Convention Center. At least the downtown arena will do something positive to the mall area, as opposed to the city government largess of the past. I think some of the objections here reflect a disdain for sports fans…

The attorney for the defendants insisted in court and in legal filings that the information the petitioners seek from McCarty and Rhinehart is “undiscoverable, privileged information.”

“The court disagrees,” wrote Judge Balanon. “Defendants have not met their burden in asserting this privilege as to Councilman McCarty.”

It is almost certain, as in 99.9999%, that the government will FORCE a motion to compel discovery with government evidence implicating their agents or entities. They never turn over anything without a court order to do so, and the courts-especially state courts- love to be compliant in the scam.
