Thanks for helping the citizens be free and supporting 2A rights. I have always felt that the California roster of "approved" guns was just a gun ban. Using this logic then why does each state not do its own "crash testing" of cars to be approved per state? Because that would be stupid, that's why. We have federal testing done to make sure guns are safe an meet the criteria. California does not need to approve what I can buy if its been listed as safe ion other states. In fact, they are banning guns that I would argue are safer, for example - The Springfield XDs does not require you to pull the trigger to disassemble but it is not allowed for sale in California. The XD is available but the disassembly process does require you to pull the trigger to disassemble. Seems like we should be able to use this in court somehow - that improved and "safer" systems are being blocked for sale.

"that will not contribute to improving public safety"

The law has nothing to do with public safety. It's a gun ban, not a gun safety law.

"Now, the department must begin accepting and processing handgun carry license applications."

Doesn't mean they have to *approve* those applications, since California is a discretionary issue jurisdiction. They will take your money, but will never approve any permits.
