Try a place that has Yellowtail or Dorado for the tacos, rather than the unidentifiable breaded whitefish at a place like Rubios. Those are smaller species than Swordfish, so the mercury levels don't accumulate.

As to your concerns about Fukishima radiation, we're probably all screwed.

Sadly, you may be correct, Dog. The writing is on the wall in old SD. This time I think enough of the voters were dismayed/disgusted with the super pervy groove of the old liberal Filner that it put Faulconer over the top in terms of election day turnout. These critical voters at the margin are getting a lot older, they live in Allied Gardens, Tierrasanta, etc. They are not gay, trendy or latino. They live a comfortable suburban life and all they ask for from city government is good government. I'm sure Gloria will come back with tons of out of state union money, perhaps even the demigoddess Ms. Emerald herself will run. She was the perfect replacement for Jim Madaffer (he was an R, not a D, not that it matters)..

Faulconer was a nice, safe, low-key establishment candidate supported by the old Downtown San Diego "business establishment" and its media organ, the Union-Tribune. He'll be a fine caretaker for the next couple of years while the City Council becomes a Democratic super-majority body and Todd Gloria prepares to run a heavily funded campaign against him for a full term in 2016.
