I understand SeeSaw, pay no attention to the crooks hiding behind the curtain, as long as your check doesn't bounce it's party time!! Well it's getting well past midnight and the party is coming to an end. :)

I don't have any need to look at pension websites Donkey. I am solvent--my pension Plan is solvent--people who make more than me are of no interest to me. SeeSaw, I know quite a few retied cops that are getting over $10,000 a month. You need to go over to the Pension Tsunami website and take a look at the growing number of $100,000 plus pensions. As the numbers continue to proliferate the clock moves even faster to ruin. :)

Why will the Title and Summary of Reed's pension initiative be any different in 2016 than it is in 2014? Kamala Harris will still be the Attorney General, Jerry Brown will still be the Governor, and Reed will be termed out of office in San Jose. The same initiative language will get the same treatment, and 2016 is a presidential election year, which means a higher percentage of Democratic voters will turn out than they would have done in the mid-terms of 2014.

First, there is no such thing as a RAGWUS theme. Any public employee making that or more in my area would be the Chief or other Dept. Head. The CM, even more. None of those are union--they don't need such. There is no rank and file making that, unless they are firefighters banking lots of overtime--something the rest of us just have to live with. I would rather see other people making money, than having to look at all the poor souls I see on the streets every day.

SeeSaw, no one working at a RAGWUS theme is worth $10,000 a month, and if you believe they are then you are the one in a fantasy my love> :)

First, Donkey, it it hard for anyone to take you seriously when you speak using an acronym that is nonexistent except in your own makebelieve mind. There is a difference between 25% of payroll and 25% of total budget--most people choose to ignore that difference when they are quoting figures. Twenty-five percent of total budget would indeed be a lot for any one municipality to pay to its own pensions--I have yet to learn about any one specific entity that is paying that toward pensions. Mayor Reed himself likes to interchange those two numbers so that he can keep people confused about reality. I don't know what you are talking about when you say a person walks up and fills out a form and gets a job in the public sector without any skills. All of the public sector workers I knew came to any particular jobs with certain skills already in place. I happened to have excellent clerical skills when I applied for my job and I am very good at working with the public, which I did every day. FYI, the employees who drink coffee--I did not--at work are the ones who have to buy the coffee.

I was in a family of four with one breadwinner sometimes and later on two breadwinners, which became a necessity. I never had to be concerned about a retired cop or teacher, etc. having pension check of $10,000 or more that I was paying for, because it never happened. Teachers, firefighter, cops, etc. are being paid from a fund that was set up by their employers and when they are on the pension, 65% is coming from investment earnings--not you, not me. Don't forget that I am a taxpayer, in the same category as you when it comes to such--I pay more out to income taxes and medical insurance premiums for myself and my spouse, than I do for other retirees' pensions, because any amount for that out of my personal holdings, is so infinetisimal, that is it not even worth worrying about.

In reply to <a href="https://calwatchdog.com/2014/03/16/pension-reform-waits-till-2016/#comment-73446">SeeSaw</a>.

SeeSaw, this has nothing to do with being "jealous," and everything to do with being aware of where the RAGWUS is taking the private citizens.

When a city goes from paying 1 or 2% of their budget to pensions to 25% or more then a problem exists that is severe, and the solution is not to put more tax dollars into the pot. The solution is to curtail and cut the amount of RAGWUS member receiving $6,$7,$8,$9,$10 thousand a month or more.

You are correct SeeSaw, sometime people did "get lucky" in the past and snag a job that in reality required little or no actual skills to perform any of its duties other than fill out this form and pay here, and lets not forget, "who drank all the coffee."

I don't believe anyone here is looking to discontinue pensions for public workers SeeSaw. What we are seeking is to take the power away from a system that has become corrupted by PS RAGWUS members leading the way in greed.

Tell me this SeeSaw, how should a family of four with a husband and wife working over four thousand hours a year and bringing in $5000 a month feel about a retired cop, fireman, teacher taking home a taxpayer funded check of $10 or $11 thousand a month? You call this being "jealous," you couldn't be farther from the truth. It is about to explode into anger as the younger worker come to the realization that certain people have stolen the wealth in a twisted game of "who can cheat the taxpayer." :)
