When America was fun for kids

“America is too safe” is one of my sayings. It’s just hard to have fun anymore, especially for kids. When I was growing up in the 60s, on weekends and during summer vacation, our parents dumped us outside and expected us to be back home by evening for dinner. Then we went back out again until dark. Some things were dangerous, but we learned about that and grew up.

Nowadays, government and busybodies have made everything “child-proof,” turning children into “fraidy-cats,” as we used to say. Here’s a video reminding us of a better time:
