Just got finished with a barbeque where I was sitting around with a bunch of average folks from a particular sport and with a variety of jobs and education levels. The topic turned to climate change and the majority of the talkative ones doubted it was real or human-caused. Al Gore’s name came up and it really does seem that the guy, while making the issue much more out there in the media, has truly hurt the cause. His hypocrisy is simply unreal. He owns 4 MANSIONS, not just 4 houses. He has not made any effort to show how he has made each one energy neutral and promote that technology for the average Joe Millionaire, much less average Joe 6-pack. While it’s not right to point to one person’s moral and common sense failure to practice what he preaches, Gore could at least make an attempt. He shouldn’t be able to completely negate the honest and practical efforts of us average folks to increase efficiency and add alternative energy to our homes. Nevertheless he does. I didn’t know how to respond to these people. They had a very valid point. Gore is obviously making lots of money. My acquaintances are able to say that green energy gets subsidies and the people pushing it are only in it to get rich and there really is no crisis, only a scare tactic to help them, the Gores of the world, make even more money and buy another mansion.
And so far, there is no word that the Gores have added a single solar panel to their sunny Montecito, CA villa.

The analysis of Florida ballots done in the year after the 2000 election showed that Gore would have won that state by something on the order of 300 or so votes if a statewide recount had been conducted. The Gore campaign was only asking for recounts in the most populous counties, which alone would not have given him enough votes to win the state.

If you look at the analysis conducted, you’ll find that Gore would have won under the most restrictive interpretation of “voter intent,” which was a far more accurate way to deal with dimpled chads, etc.

If you don’t believe me, use Google and review it for yourself. You have nothing to lose but a small piece of your ignorance.
