How seriously should we take a magazine article, purportedly based upon the confidential responses of “500 CEO’s across the nation,” when the publisher won’t divulge the true sample size, sample questions, response rate, or respondent location? The respondents could well have all been “CEO’s” somewhere outside of California who really have little or no knowledge about the state.

Ever been to Texas, Richard? Nothing says “freedom!” like having a metal plating operation and petrochemical factory next door to your house or your kid’s school. No wonder you libertarians think it’s some kind of paradise.

But I think they meant that the correct top California personal income tax rate (federal plus state income tax) is 53% — NOT 33%. Arguably it’s higher.

I’ve written the company to see if the article can be corrected online. Sadly, there’s been no response.

Even if it somehow were NOT true, the PERCEPTION that CA is a business hellhole deters evil corporations from moving to CA (except retail outlets). Shucks, reading the hostility here to CEO’s, it seems some are HAPPY with CA’s well earned anti-business reputation.

Obviously these lefties are helpless to change this perception. Dismissing any such critique as untrue or a biased source is NOT a refutation.

Misinformation trumped up by Bagdad Bob-types abounds to over stimulate those who have not evolved to cope with modern life.

It’s far more likely that the only thing you’ve got that’s 10 1/2 inches is your inseam, or possibly the circumference of your pointy head.
