What can be done to stop this runaway train? Aside from the politicians, there is general agreement that this project is nothing more than a Moonbeam legacy builder (he hopes) and nothing less than an unaffordable yoke around the neck of those folks that actually pay taxes in California for the foreseeable future.
Financially, it is a disaster. To repeat all the concerns the experts have documented is simply a waste of time. How is it that the citizen's representatives in Sacramento feel they can ignore irrefutable facts and figures that, in a normal business analysis, would forever bury this plan...???!! Yep. You're right! These politicos are experts at ignoring reality.
The bottom line is that project has to be stopped by us.. somehow, some way. What do we have to do (and don't suggest just throwing more money at the organizations who are publicly opposed...what have they managed to do so far?)?

A more damning commentary came from the firm who runs the TGV in France. When it was first proposed, they assumed it would follow the I-5 corridor since that is a very long straight roadway where the rights of way were already in place. Under this assumption they looked at bidding the operation of California's bullet train. When they found out that it would be routed through the small cities running the length of the Central Valley they pulled out since the route was impractical. Politics trumped common sense again.
