There already exist a panoply of laws and remedies to prevent gun-related domestic violence. Also, where is the data: what percentage of domestic violence incidents involve a firearm versus a steak knife, rock, baseball bat, etc?Answer: this data does not exist. What this will do is 1) serve to enable huge budget increases for SWAT teams, since the restraining orders will NOT be served by individual officers (THAT WOULD NOT BE SAFE) 2) create yet another layer of eugenics-based social engineer family court-style judges that can be inserted into every disintegrating marraige or relationship. People in failing relationships routinely hurl charges at each other: “he;s dangerous” or “she’s crazy” etc. Now Californians will have an on-call judiciary that can make a snap decision and take sides, thus inflaming the situation more. I would love to know if Skinner and Wlliams have concealed carry permits….
