Instead of ADDING a charge, just break-out the bill, itemizing specific costs, taxes, etc. I think this would not only be accepted by customers, but heighten their awareness of the cost of doing business.

But gas stations do not.

Some hotels starting adding an energy “surcharge” to their bills a few years ago. Not sure if many still do that. Same logic – right? What does the room rate include?
