Deasey was appointed to rock the boat and stir the pot. He was never meant to be a long-termed superintendent. He knew his mission on day one. They'll give him a nice cushy job to finish out his career. He did make some headway in holding teachers accountable. Although it may be short-lived depending on who takes over next. The academic performace of the LAUSD student body will never markedly improve until they change the values of the parents who are raising them. The parents must value education and demand that their kids go to school and perform academically. You've got a bunch of families from south of the border who don't give a damn about education. That has to change. Otherwise California will remain ranked 47th out of 50 states in academic performance.
