The six-states initiative already went through the signature-gathering process and it failed to qualify. The paid, signature collectors lied when telling the prospective signers what the initiative was about--I was one of those approached. Nobody is going to chop up my state into six pieces! The Silicon Valley sponsor could have used his four million dollars to feed and cloth the unemployed workers on the farms up there in N. CA if he were a humanitarian instead of a narcissist!

Since you know everything there is to know about every subject, LIC you must be making several million dollars yearly as a consultant on everything. If not--you are the one being taken!

In reply to <a href="https://calwatchdog.com/2014/11/03/video-would-six-californias-be-better-than-one/#comment-101076">Bill - San Jose</a>.

Bill, in the one in a millionth chance that you could get your wish and the rich SV and the outlining communities became one state, within 5 years you would probably get invaded from both the east and the south forcing a regime change on your government that would mandate interstate funding programs for the needy. Generally, if governments can't persuade the rich to share their cash or wealth it's usually taken by force. That's the typical M.O. Sort of like what we did to Iraq. :)

This is absolutely a solid idea for the parts of CA that get the crumbs from the elite masses around the two populated locations.

40M people with only 2 Senators = not enough clout to get what we put in.

It would hurt my conservative vote being I'm at Silicon Valley but it would be a good idea for those who are left to fight over water and whatever federal funds are not coming their way now.

And SV is a terrible name of course. You might call it Barbary Coast or Monterey or even Sonoma would be acceptable. Place the capitol in San Jose or Fremont?

I laugh at these fellas talking about dividing Cali into six states and whether it would be better than one. They might as well discuss whether having 2 heads would be better than just having one. The ruling class would never allow Cali to be spliced and diced. Sorry. To get that done you would have to defeat armed state and federal militias equipped with tanks and Dragon Fires with 120mm mortars. Forget it. Talk about something more productive.
With regard to Silicon Valley and the US educational system. Why should the Valley hire some lug coming out of Berkeley with a masters in Computer Science for $140,000 when it can hire a dude from India with as much practical IT knowledge for $35,000? You don't think that's happening today? HAH! Your american educations are being rendered worthless. And how many took out $70,000 loans to get one??? Student loan debt exceeds credit card debt in the good 'ol USA. Over $1 trillion dollars. A nation full of young educated debt slaves who settle for $13/hr jobs! Educated american geeks are walking around like zombies because nobody will hire them! They would rather hire a foreigner at a cheaper wage! The jokes on you, my friends. You've been played. They threw out the bait and you swallowed it. But hang that $70,000 worthless degree on your wall and show it to all your friends and relatives when they visit you at your one-bedroom Section 8 apartment!!! :D
