The top 5 cities for ozone pollution are indeed in California. Number 6 is Houston, Texas. Number 8 is Dallas-Fort Worth, TX. The top 5 for year round particle pollution is again in California. Number 8 is El Paso-Las Cruces, TX & NM. Not surprisingly the top 5 in the short term particle pollution category are all California cities. El Paso-Las Cruces, TX & NM rank number 9. While these rankings are nothing for California to be proud of the writer of this piece is stretching the truth by saying that Texas has no cities on the American Lung Association’s Most Polluted Cities list.
