The State of California just uses our tax refund as an interest free loan and you can never get a straight answer out of them. Move out of the state as quickly as humanly possible.

We received our federal refund in less than two weeks. We are STILL waiting on our state refund. Their website is useless. It constantly says that my information doesn’t match theirs. REALLY? When we do get through to a person we just get a lot of excuses. Makes me want to stop turn off my state taxes but we know how the system is set up and it’s not set up for THEM to LOSE.

I still have not received our state refund. I have called the FTB several times..the have no answer other then it can take 2 or 3 months. They insist the state isn’t withholding the refunds to supplement the budget..lol I have recently seen several articles stating otherwise..it could take until 2016.. I consider this state sanctioned stealing. . Pitiful!!

File E-file State & Fed return on March 6, 2015. Received refund from Feds/direct deposit in less then a week. Still waiting on my State return. First time I checked I got a message that they were still processing my return. Next time I logged in to check on my return, I got a message that the info that I entered did not match my return. I called twice and the answer I got was there was not a problem with my return but all refunds have been delayed. Still waiting for my return. It has been 3- weeks.

I had not noticed the Fed’s refund and when I went through their automated online system, it told me when it had been deposited (checked and they were right). When I tried the state’s system, it said that it could not help me. When I called, “Lines are busy, call back again.” I succeeded by calling in before the call center was open, over and over again until I was (told) literally the first caller of the day. They also told me if CA owes you money, get ready to wait. They were right. They did explain that after about 2 months they would owe me interest … ya, right … I’m going to spend that kind of time and effort to get my interest. Just pay the damn refunds in a reasonable amount of time and stop playing games holding on to my money.
