"the president came to our state to designate “half of the Angeles National Forest a national monument at the behest of Rep. Judy Chu, D-Monterey Park."

Monica Lewinsky's boyfriend did the same thing when he was President. Whatever the environmental extremists want, the Demorats give them. What is the end game here? To turn all Federal lands into wilderness areas where all human habitation is forbidden and entry/use is strictly controlled by Federal bureaucrats.

The Gaia worshippers have a long term vision. They want the human race stuffed into designated urban habitation zones like rats in a cage, with all travel outside these areas subject to government supervision, tracking and payment of onerous fees. Turning massive swaths of National Forest/BLM land into more restrictive National Parks and Monuments is a big step in that direction.

The only long term solution to this dystopian environmental nightmare is for the States to take back the land they should never have ceded to the Feds to begin with. Federal control of such massive land areas makes a mockery of State sovereignty and the principles of Federalism. Federal control of western lands is one of the great historical tragedies of Americas westward expansion.
