Here's a thought: IF the Chargers get everything that they want in San Diego (rather than move to LA), this southern region is doomed to forever support what will be at best a mediocre team. Two reasons:

1. We are a small market -- 3 million people. 30% of the people at the Charger games (ticket buyers and sky box renters) are from LA. LA WILL get at LEAST one NFL team in the next couple years. And that will eliminate most of the LA fans and LA sky box renters for our Chargers. We'll have a splendid new stadium while gaining only unending TV blackouts.

2. Our new (likely permanent) CA state 13.3% state income tax will make player acquisition and retention in CA more and more difficult. Only the two major market areas will be able to offset that disadvantage with "bonus" payments -- San Francisco and Los Angeles. Sacramento, Oakland and San Diego are out of luck.
