The slave owner would be charged with assault, kidnapping, and sometimes murder. Slavery only works on an institutional level when government jumps in and makes different rules for business. Let’s have the companies where employees work on these holidays double their prices on those days to cover the labor costs. As a former nurse, I worked plenty of holidays without extra pay, and felt that it was MY decision to choose that line of work. Hospitals, hotels, restaurants, gas stations, and any other companies with employees working on holidays as Lorena points out… double your prices on holidays!
