And what power source will be used to recharge Popple's bus batteries? And exactly what battery technology will the bus use, and why? And Popple's $3 million Grant, how can I get in on that scam?

Not to mention that the whole battery idea they have is a bunch of crap, inefficient and expensive, big waste of time unless FRAUD is a normal business practice.

A Trojan L16 deep cycle battery has a 370AH rating at 6 volts, or 2,200 watt-hours. Each. You can draw them down 50% repeatedly without problem. Four of them in series will produce about 4 kilowatt-hours of reliable power (their nominal rating is more than twice that, or roughly comparable to Tesla's "power wall") and the output of four in series is 24V which is compatible with commodity inverter/charger equipment unlike Tesla's "Powerwall" which is not. The Trojans also cost about $400 each, which means four of them cost $1,600 or less than half the price, at retail, what Tesla wants as a wholesale price for their "powerwall" and a 3kw inverter/charger to go with the Trojans can be had for about another $1,000 as that is commodity equipment unlike the Tesla gear.

I hate to be the buzzkiller, but Mr. Musk is so far very long on techno-utopian talk, and very short on real world delivery. Tesla is till bleeding out red ink, has yet to make a dime. To announce the beginning of a new tech 'EMPIRE' is in my mind a jinx. Real tech empires (Apple, Google, Microsoft) started really small, with a very long 'proof of concept' period, like tiny Permian mammals skittering in the forest duff, while the IBM's of the world thundered around above. The fact that he's chosen CA for his launch (but NOT his factory..)speaks volumes to californians slavish addiction to trendiness, and their gullibility thereof...
