First and foremost water conservation is imperative to the overall health of this state and the marijuana industry as well.

I've been a marijuana grower for nearly 16 years. Despite that affiliation I am perfectly aware that water is far more precious a resource than marijuana will ever be!

Don't be foolish the regulations are needed to keep those with dollar signs in their eyes under control. It's imperative to do so in this industry due to the massive amount of greedy amateurs involved.

This is an epidemic similar to a wave of inexperienced car mechanics claiming professional status while botching the ob. In other words they're ruining the industry and its reputation.

It does NOT take 34 gallons of water to grow an ounce of marijuana when you know exactly what you're doing. It can in fact take more than that for the naive and misinformed grower.

Another reason regulations are necessary in this industry.

Experienced growers should be growing medical marijuana. This is just one example as to why. There are many other examples as well. Far too many to list here.

It's imperative we stop naive amateurs from growing our medical marijuana. As they say one bad apple spoils the bunch. In this case it's many bad apples.

I can and do grow an ounce of high quality medical marijuana with well under 18 gallons of water. The secret?

Less fertilizer(s),
a reasonable amount of humidity (not too much not too little),
watering at the proper times,
using the right size pots for the job,
using the proper substrate,
Using the proper light source (new generation LEDs being ideal)
avoiding flushing altogether by fertilizing and watering with intelligence (you do not need to flush if you know how to properly fertilize and water),
choosing the proper strains to grow,
pruning your plants properly,
keeping your temperatures at an ideal level
... the list goes on and on.

If you grow outdoors and you're growing without a greenhouse you're part of the problem, period.

Using 34 gallons of water to grow one ounce of pot is obscene! and should be illegal. The hallmark of an incredibly inexperienced, dopey (and most likely greedy) grower.

CWD is becoming alarmingly funky liberal with all the stoners chiming in on drug depravity....

So strange.... Starve a struggling hard working immigrant but applaud a dead beat stoner soon to be a regressed ward of the state.

An ounce of quality MJ (or MMJ, if you prefer) is worth far more than an ounce of almonds. No comparison. In any event, this stupid "War" on people that use MJ (and it is a war on people, not on "drugs") has created this whole mess. Of course you do not have "legitimate" farms. Stop putting people in jail for growing, selling or possessing a plant, and then you can worry about how the plant is grown.
