Booze pickled residents have very short memories.

When the Raiders played in LA many were encouraged to pay competing gangs "protection", so there cars were not "keyed", or lose tires in game day parking lots.

In OC my young son and I were terrified at a Rams vs Bears game.....drunken fan fights in common areas, beer hurling on fans at lower seat levels, cars vandalized in parking lots.

Is making money on football include a "Mad Max" enviroment?

Simple solution. San Diego provides the financing they want, gets 30% of the take!
The NFL should make it mandatory that in exchange for financing stadiums, those cities get a nice slice of ownership. That way, if the team decides to move in 20 years or so, the city gets bought out at what is then current market value, based on recent team sales, etc.

I agree with brando. The SD taxpayers gave the Chargers $40M once and essentially got nothing in return. Now they want them to do it AGAIN?! I love the Chargers but enough is enough ...NO more corporate welfare! The mayor and city council should not base there business decisions on nostalgia anyway. Adios Chargers!

Why should citizens of San Diego pay for a stadium? Do citizens pay for shopping malls, supermarkets, or hardware stores? NO! The Spanos family wants their business to be heavily subsidized by taxpayers. If they want a new stadium the Spanos and private investors can pay for it NOT taxpayers. If they want to leave San Diego let them go. The city is spending too much time on this and wasting taxpayers money.
