‘Organizers of a fundraiser held last month to help pay off debt and college costs for the sons of San Diego school board President Marne Foster have been given until Sept. 9 to show that a raffle-like drawing held at the event was conducted legally.’

Sorry-did I miss the transition to a Napoleonic Code? I naively thought that under our system of law proof of legality/illegality was the job of the state prosecutor. With a ‘presumption of innocence’ the PROSECUTOR (AG) is required to conduct a thorough investigation. A citizen has NOTHING to prove outside of court. And no, I’m not a fan of Ms. Foster, she is probably corrupt on some level, but I’m amazed at the extent to which our system of due process has degenerated.

While Ms. Foster wears many hats, her favorite and most challenging job is being a mother to four gifted children, with two in college on full scholarships and two still in San Diego Unified Schools. Ms. Foster and family are members of Christian Fellowship Congregational Church.
How can her children be in college “debt” when she claims they have full scholarships?

Come on Chris, Marne Foster is a trough feeder only earning $36K for her 8 hours per month as a school board member, who knows how much she is troughing at the Community College District!
