The description of SB 8 “from the LegInfo official site” is actually taken from the “findings and declarations” portion of the bill text, which is written by the bill’s author (Sen. Hertzberg). That doesn’t mean it’s not true, but it’s not really “official,” either, as the article makes it seem (at least unless/until the bill is enacted).

A terrible idea for reasons too numerous to list here. Bottom line, people with moderate incomes will decline to use basic services offered by their moderate income small business peers. And to give an advantage to government services, direct or indirect, which compete with the private sector and will not be taxed at all.
A terrible idea rooted in government’s penchant for taxing anything that moves.
