I'm pretty much retired these days but still work occasionally for a state agency drawing up and administering state contracts.
Each year I'm required to fill out a disclosure of economic interests and also take a ethics class reviewing any types of behavior which could be considered a conflict of interest in my position.
I am not allowed to accept a gift of any kind from any source right down to simple things like a free meal or a movie ticket from people who might benefit from favorable treatment or influence from my position handling public funds.
All of the gifts, trips, etc in the bottom third of this article which Perea accepted and the rest of the Legislature routinely accept would draw a large fine, termination, and/or jail time.
It still confounds me that politicians in this state can accept gifts and gratuities of any kind.
But then I remember that the politicians made these rules for me and others and never intended them to apply to themselves.
Obviously we have the absolutely best government money can buy.

Another DemoNRat corruptocrat to become filthy rich.

This is the way it works. This DemoNRat used our tax dollars to reward his cronies and punish his cronies' enemies.

Now it's time to make the 7 figure plus yearly salary as a reward from the special interests he fleeced the taxpayers for.

So let's all vote for tax increases and every bond measure in the next election so this corruption can continue.
