Why was this felonious practice not stopped by the courts on day one??? Confiscation of private property without being charged with a crime? Sounds more like a practice in a communist country that has no place in the U.S.
Because we now live in a banana republic!

The fact that the SCOTUS allows this nonsense is the sad part, tis is a clear violation of the Due Process clause, both procedurally and substanatively....

The California District Attorneys Association claimed the bill would “deny every law enforcement agency in California direct receipt of any forfeited assets.”

Yes, that's hopefully the whole point of the legislation dumbasses! Here's an idea - try the moderately challenging job of getting a conviction before you punish someone for criminal behavior. It's pathetic and outrageous that a lobbying group for government lawyers can't understand the fundamental injustice of punishing innocent people by stealing their stuff and then personally benefitting from said injustice.

In a sane world these prosecutors would be tarred and feathered before being disbarred and deported to a place with the sort of totalitarian legal system they prefer.
