Congressman Issa has a hearing problem. He is not listening to his voters (I am one of them). Write him letters for about one year to please co-sponsor the First Amendment Defense Act (H.R. 2802). Silence. Then he recently votes for the Maloney Amendment to codify one of President Obama’s unlawful executive orders advancing the LGBT agenda in government contracting. Why is Mr. Issa (who allegedly opposes Obama’s executive order overreach) voting to codify one of them into law? Plus he is an avid supporter of the Export-Import Bank (the Bank of Boeing). Support a liberal Doug Applegate – nope not now or ever. But Congressman Issa is either choosing to go down a liberal path or he is getting very good at ignoring his base. Either way, why should conservative Republicans who believe in Religious Freedom and the rule of law support Mr. Issa? Why should a voter support and vote for a Congressman who ignores you. Mr. Issa has a very short time to the general election to explain himself to his voters.
