While the article makes much to do that this was a Republican victory it is apparent that it wasn’t that important to the Democrats otherwise they would have been present to vote on the issue. This says much about De Leon’s leadership capabilities. Diversity is important and Democrsts and liberal environmentalists have not been our champions, either. Racism is not just a one party affair.

De Leon is backed by environmentalists who want to enrich themselves and the more well to do people. They want more clean air even if it means poor people won’t get jobs or get to move up the social ladder. It’s disturbing that he’s acting like FDR whose ideology almost gets in the way of a real democracy, a democracy where your public servants are being represented and not chosen by political partisans.
