Great news.

At least 100,000 more employees with benefits and free health care to cheaply administer your health care. No more fat cat insurance executives and all that unnecessary stuff-

Rejoice....many many will get what they do not pay for-

In the US, the per capita cost of healthcare is $10K whereas most other industrialized nations its half that. If you speak with people in those other countries about how their care is delivered, it is made more efficient by using many small clinics for most primary care while more serious medical needs are dealt with in hospitals. Unfortunately, the US has trended exactly the opposite. The federal government in its infinite wisdom compensates (reimbursements for services) hospitals at up to 3x the rate that clinics and private practice doctor's offices do. As a result, doctor offices and clinics get closed down and hospitals, which used to be a building, are now campuses providing a greater range of services at high cost. The ACA did nothing to reverse this trend, in fact it made it worse. I would contend that you won't see healthcare costs fall until you see hospitals start downsizing and care is moved back to smaller clinic distributed model. However, the people in the best position to shape the legislation (lobby) to their benefit are the bloated hospitals collecting very high fees.

No way California taxpayers should pay for illegal immigrants, who don't pay a dime of state income tax. Never. And small businesses should be exempted from the 15% tax on employers. Let the liberal corporations like Google, EBay, PayPal, Apple and Facebook take the hit. Liberals never saw a tax rise they didn't like, so let them pay.

This bill would put control of health care in the state under the authority of a nine-member panel and essentially eliminate the role of insurance companies – thus replacing them with a government bureaucracy.

Goodie, another gummyment bureaucracy....what could possibly go wrong???

Colliefornia already has a 9.3% marginal income tax that kicks in around 52k. Tack an extra 15% on to that then you got the federales at 25% and a lower level working stiff who can barely get by in Colliefornia is in a nearly 50% marginal tax bracket. Dang...that's gonna hurt.
