Public sector enterprises do not have the luxury of hiring someone based on, say, their sexual orientation. Hiring the best person for the job should be the only consideration. Any other secondary ‘demographic’ feature of a prospective employee is irrelevant and certainly none of these ‘special interest caucuses’ bloody business. Let them try to apply racial quotas that reflect the general makeup of the population to the NBA and see what happens. It’s pretty disgusting to think that these clowns in Sacramento deem to represent us.

In 1996 California voters approved Proposition 209, aka the California Civil Rights Initiative which outlawed what was known as affirmative action. (See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/California_Proposition_209) To my knowledge, it has not been repealed although there have been several attempts to repeal it. So the left-wingers renamed affirmative action diversity and are up to their old tricks
