In reply to Hoodphil. To each his own. But there are great tech centers around the nation with FAR lower costs. Austin, for one. Reno is an upcoming tech center. Many others. For those business owners willing to sacrifice profits to stay in CA, we thank them for their generosity.

In reply to Richard Rider. I have to disagree Richard, although at one time I considered moving my company out of the Bay Area (before I sold it). For certain businesses in high-tech northern California is still a highly desirable area and a draw for employees.

As I see it, the board of directors of any California non-retail, publicly traded company that chooses to remain in the Golden State is guilty of fiduciary malfeasance. The decision to stay in CA adversely impacts the company’s profits.

Any such company that chooses to remain in SAN FRANCISCO is even more guilty of corporate shareholder negligence.

Given the MANY great choices around the nation, any tech company choosing to stay in the SF/Silicon Valley region is letting their personal preferences and biases supersede their responsibility to their shareholders.
