These people do not care in the least about what the people want, only what suits their own self-absorbed agenda. The voters soundly defeated Proposition 10, the Local Rent Control Initiative, just a few months ago, yet these arrogant politicians don’t care. This is truly not “government for the people.” They should be recalled in disgrace, but without shame and a true conscience, there can be no disgrace. So sad and maddening.

Instead of solving the problem which is not enough supply, they want government to mandate what landlords can change. What do you think this has on new development… Clearly there will over time be even less, with more expensive housing being the only option for developers. If you want to fix the problem make it easier and cheaper to build. Rent Co trol does the opposite.
